OLD RELIABLE ON APPLE ISLE
3 OCTOBER 2025
In Northwest Tasmania, Brett Squibb continues a proud legacy as a third-generation apple grower. As Managing Director of RW Squibb & Sons, Brett oversees nearly 30 hectares of apple orchards and like any grower, he knows the importance of reliable, efficient equipment.
After his old red sprayer finally gave up, Brett found himself at a Future Orchards field day, where a recommendation changed everything. Brett asked the guy running the day, ‘If you were buying a new spray pump, what would you get?’ to which he said, ‘I’d go with the Cropliner with the 920 DSV fan.’
That advice led Brett to Croplands and Croplands Tasmania Territory Manager Dave Farmer and within days, a demo unit was delivered from Shepparton to Tasmania.
“I spoke to Dave on a Thursday or Friday, and the machine was here by Monday or Tuesday,” Brett said.
Since then, Brett hasn’t looked back. He now owns two Cropliners, both fitted with auto flow rate controllers and identical setups for a seamless operation.
“I like things to be exactly the same,” he said.

“If something happens to one, we can jump into the other and keep going.”
The Cropliner’s dual spray ring with 28 nozzles and powerful fan delivers exceptional coverage, even on low speed.
“It punches through the canopy and gives us even coverage from top to bottom. It does everything we need it to do,” Brett said.
It’s not only the equipment that’s impressed Brett, it’s the service. Each season, his local Tasmac team services the machines, runs calibrations, and provides reports. Meanwhile, Dave Farmer remains one of Brett’s trusted contacts, even offering advice on drone spraying.
“He’s full of knowledge and always happy to help — even when it’s outside his wheelhouse,” he said.
Brett sums it up simply:
“If I wasn’t happy with them, I wouldn’t have two of them.”
